六条腿的“怪蛙”

　　在沈阳大东区小十字街居住的温先生的家中有一只罕见的六腿青蛙。2002年9月4日上午，报界人士见到了这只青蛙，它体壮活泼，6只脚并用，使劲蹬地。伸展开腿的青蛙足有27厘米长，6厘米宽，重达500多克。

　　最奇特的是，它并不因为身体左侧多长出了两条长腿而影响行动。

A 6-Legged Strange Frog

　　There is a rare 6-legged frog raised by Mr. Wen who lives in Dadong District of Shenyang City, China. In the morning of 4 September 2002, a local newspaper reporter saw the frog. It is lively and strong and presses the ground with its 6 claws at the same time. Spreading its legs out, the frog is 27 cm in length, and 6 cm in width. It is more than 500 g in weight.

　　What is the more interesting is that it has two surplus long legs on the left side but they do not hamper its action.

海怪

　　在古老的传说中，海洋里拥有无比法力的就是海怪。

　　2003年，一种没有骨骼和器官的怪肉被冲上智利蒙特港附近的海滩，长12米，重13吨。80年前，人们在美国佛罗里达州海滩也发现了一块重5到7吨的怪肉，当人们试图将它割开时，它坚韧而富有弹性的外皮竟把刀片弄断了。

　　在古老的那维亚传说中，“克莱根”其大无比，水手有时会以为它是个小岛，但当航海者靠近它时，小岛会像炸弹一样散开，到处挥舞的触手可以抓住船只并使之沉没。克莱根还能吐出黑色毒液，使船员毫无反抗的力量和逃脱的可能。

　　2001年，地质学家向海底发出超过200分贝的声呐，因无法忍受巨大噪声，9只大王乌贼的尸体被冲上岸。现在，加拿大科学家奥德利已得到一只巨型乌贼的标本。虽然这还不是一只成年大王乌贼，但它已拥有超过1米的身长和4米长的触腕。它有3个心脏，它坚硬的嘴看起来很像鹦鹉喙，它还拥有上百个令人恐怖的吸盘。

　　那么，巨型的乌贼会不会就是人们传说中的海怪克莱根呢？

　　抹香鲸也曾被人们认为是海怪，如今却成了人类的猎物。在解剖抹香鲸时，人们发现它的胃里经常有大量乌贼嘴，它无法消化这些坚硬的东西。科学家们曾在一只抹香鲸的胃里发现18000只乌贼嘴，其中不少是大王乌贼的，可能抹香鲸的主食就是大王乌贼。

Sea Monsters

　　In legends, those who possess limitless power in oceans are the sea monsters.

　　In 2003, a piece of strange meat without the bones and organs was drifted up the nearby seabeach of the Monte Port in Chile. This piece of meat is 12 meters in length and 13 tons in weight. 80 years ago, people found a piece of strange meat of 5 to 7 tons on the seabeach of Florida, U.S.A. When people tried to cut it, it was so flexible, tough and tensile that it broke actually the knife.

　　The “Klaigen” is a kind of matchless huge sea monster in legend. Sometimes the seamen may mistake it for an islet. The “islet” would spread out quickly as explosion, catch and sink the ship, waving its innumerable tentacles everywhere, when navigators approached it. The “Klaigen” can also spit the black poisonous liquid, making the crew to have no force of resistance and any chance of escape.

　　In 2001, when geologists spread a loud noise over 200 decibels to the bottom of sea, 9 dead bodies of the king cuttlefish were drifted up the sea beach because the noise was beyond their endurance. In 2005, a Canadian scientist obtained a specimen of the king cuttlefish. Although it is not fully grown, its body has been over 1 meter in length and its tentacles exceeded 4 meters in length. In addition, it has 3 hearts and hundreds of terrorizing suckers. Its hard mouth looks like the beak of a parrot.

　　Is the king cuttlefish the sea monster Klaigen in legend?

　　The sperm whale was called sea monster too. Now it has become human’s prize. One day, people found that there were a large number of cuttlefish’s mouths in a sperm whale’s stomach when they dissected it. So the sperm whale can’t digest the hard things. Scientists found 18 thousand cuttlefish’s mouths in the stomach of a sperm whale. Most of them were the mouths of the king cuttlefish. Maybe the principal food of the sperm whale is the king cuttlefish.
